My main interests are in in plant morphology, systematics, and evolution and in phylogenetic theory (parsimony analysis, character weighting, inapplicable characters, sequence alignment).

For my research in phylogenetics, I am associated with Göteborgs Botaniska Trädgård, the botanical garden of Gothenburg (Sweden).
My day time job, as an ICT professional, is at the university of Leuven (Belgium). More information at LinkedIn.

Anagallis, a program for parsimony analysis with special algorithms to deal with inapplicables, will be available on this website soon.
The theoretical background is discussed here (see section on inapplicables).

I also contribute to Kevin Nixon's website
To get an impression of the diversity in my garden and in the village I live in, wild as well as cultivated, you can enter Veltem-Beisem as a search term in the 'keyword or locality' field there.
